NCAPA’s PA of the Year award honors a PA who has demonstrated exemplary service to the profession and the community, and who has furthered the image of the PA profession while providing significant contributions to the health of the citizens of North Carolina.

Marc Katz, PA-C, was the recipient of the NCAPA 2016 PA of the Year award. Marc is a PA in Hickory, NC, specializing in ENT. He has been an avid supporter of NCAPA and the PA profession for over 30 years and continues to inspire new PAs to be involved and advocate for the profession. As one of his nominees wrote:
“Marc is incredibly dedicated to the PA profession. He devotes a tremendous amount of time supporting and furthering the profession through his service to NCAPA. Largely due to his passion and leadership, NCAPA was successful in getting legislation passed in 2015 to add a designated seat for a PA on the NC Medical Board. Government affairs has been his passion for many years and he has driven countless miles from Hickory to Raleigh to attend meetings of the NC Medical Board over the years. Because of Marc and others like him, PAs are now a welcome and respected presence at the Medical Board. He was instrumental in re-writing the practice laws for PAs during the 1990s. He serves on the PA Advisory Council and he has represented NCAPA on the Medical Board Review Panel since its inception. All of these activities have furthered the standing of the PA profession in North Carolina.”
Marc’s “leadership, engagement, and dedication have not only been exemplary and top notch, but have enabled both the Academy and the PA profession to grow and strengthen.”
The PA of the Year award was presented to Marc Katz during the Annual Member Meeting at the NCAPA Summer Conference on Monday, August 22, 2016.
