Brenna McManus is the NCAPA Endowment Student Grant recipient from the UNC-Chapel Hill PA Program. Prior to PA school, Brenna graduated with honors from UNC with a major in Biology and Global Studies and minor in Chemistry. She developed an interest in medicine and the PA profession while working at UNC Hospitals during her undergraduate years and immersed herself in volunteer projects related to patient-caregiver communication, newborn care, peer assistance and the pre-PA organization. In PA school, Brenna served as her student society’s outreach chair and developed web page and social media resources. She is also involved in the Rural Interprofessional Health Initiative, an experience she applied to her capstone project of improving provider comfort with mental health. Brenna plans to remain in North Carolina and work in primary care and, eventually, teach PA students. Congratulations Brenna!
The NCAPA Endowment board gratefully thanks all who have made generous donations that make these scholarships and other grants possible. Please consider supporting PA students and practicing PAs who continue to do the work of providing excellent health care services in North Carolina.
