The NCAPA Government Affairs Committee works to assure that North Carolina has a practice environment beneficial to PAs and remains one of the best states to practice. The committee reviews and makes recommendations on issues related to statutes, regulatory, and reimbursement as they affect PAs and the profession in North Carolina.
Each year, the committee creates a Legislative Agenda and plans and coordinates the Annual PA Day at the NC Legislature. The committee also currently has a subcommittee focused on Behavioral Health and includes professional liaisons to the NC Medical Board Review Panel and the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Group.
LEGISLATIVE SUBCOMMITTEE – Review proposed healthcare legislation for impacts on PAs and patients. Members will receive bill tracking information and will be responsible for reviewing legislation and raising questions. This committee will meet more frequently during session and may be asked to provide testimony or recruit another PA to provide testimony.
