The NCAPA Government Affairs Committee works to assure that North Carolina has a practice environment beneficial to PAs and remains one of the best states to practice. The committee reviews and makes recommendations on issues related to statutes, regulatory, and reimbursement as they affect PAs and the profession in North Carolina.
Each year, the committee creates a Legislative Agenda and plans and coordinates the Annual PA Day at the NC Legislature. The committee also currently has a subcommittee focused on Behavioral Health and includes professional liaisons to the NC Medical Board Review Panel and the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Group.
REGULATORY SUBCOMMITTEE – Monitor and provide feedback to NC Medical Board policy statements, proposed rules, and other issues. Attend at least one of the virtual APPAH Committee and Policy Committee meetings. Be prepared to provide testimony at NCMB meetings as needed. Meeting frequency is every other month prior to NCMB meetings and as needed.
