General Membership Meeting
As usual, NCAPA will hold its Annual General Membership Meeting in conjunction with the NCAPA Summer Conference in Myrtle Beach. The meeting is from 8:00-8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 18, in the Kensington Ballroom of the Embassy Suites Hotel at the Kingston Plantation. NCAPA is sending you written status reports in advance about the Academy’s finances, membership, and government affairs activities. Please access them here. If you have any questions about the information, please direct them to Cathie Feild, Executive Director, at cathie.feild@ncapa.org or call 800-352-2271, prior to the meeting. If you will be at the General Membership Meeting, there will be a brief period for questions and answers at the end of the meeting.
There are several important items on the agenda this year including a vote on a bylaws change regarding NCAPA student board representation, presentation of the PA of the Year Award, and presentation of a new award, the NCAPA Special Recognition Award. There will also be a prize drawing at the end, so be sure to join us!
Apply to Serve on a Committee
NCAPA’s 2015 Committee Application is now available! We encourage all members to volunteer to serve on a committee—either as a Chair or a member. A list with descriptions of the committees can be accessed here. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the application and return it to NCAPA by mail, fax, or email no later than August 28. NCAPA committee volunteers are essential to achieving the Academy’s mission. Please consider contributing your time and talents. Current committee Chairs and members must also complete the application if you are interested in continuing to serve in 2015.
August Pulse
Due to the Annual Summer Conference, there will not be an August issue of The Pulse. Look for the next Pulse in your email on September 15!
Time to Renew
Speaking of September 15, our renewal process begins soon! Memberships expiring in 2014 will do so on December 31st; any annual memberships purchased or renewed on or after September 15th will begin at the time of purchase and continue through 12.31.15. Consider renewing soon!
