In Memoriam – Ryan O’Hara, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, CAQ-EM

October 11, 2023 by Pauline Bulala

The NCAPA is deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our PA leaders – Ryan O’Hara, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, CAQ-EM.

PA O’Hara received his BA in Exercise and Sports Medicine from UNC Chapel Hill, his Master’s in PA Studies from Wake Forest University, his MBA from UNC Pembroke, and his DMSc degree from AT Still University. PA O’Hara was a dedicated clinician and educator, having recently started working as a Medical Science Liaison after almost three years as an Assistant Professor at the High Point University PA Program and over five years as an Emergency Medicine PA at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Within NCAPA, PA O’Hara served in numerous leadership roles including serving as the Membership Committee Chair for the last two years.

Those who had the pleasure of working alongside him were continually impressed by his tenacity, kindness, creativity, and infectious sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by everyone at NCAPA, and our hearts go out to his family, fiancée Kendall, friends, colleagues, and students.
