The 48th Annual NCAPA Summer Conference was recently held at the Kingston Resorts in Myrtle Beach, SC this past week! PAs & NPs from across the country came together to discuss innovative topics, hone their skills with hands-on workshops, and earn high-quality CME.
Sunday Night Reception
Situated right on the Myrtle Beach shore, in-person attendees and their families enjoyed the newly upgraded rooms and amenities that the Kingston Resorts had to offer, including the newly built Currents Waterpark and the brand-new Black Drum Brewery. The 2024 Summer Conference kicked off with the Sunday Night Reception, where guests and families dined and danced into the night with the Liquid Pleasure band, ready to take on the week.
High-Quality CME Sessions
The Summer Conference offers PAs and NPs access to peer-driven and peer-led CME with sessions covering a spectrum of topics, from pediatrics to cardiology, geriatrics to psychiatry, to billing and coding, and even the latest updates on PAs and NPs Rules and Regulations. The Conference continued its hybrid design, with both in-person and virtual learners in attendance. Dynamic speakers delivered their sessions and expertise on stage, as well as being broadcasted to virtual attendees.
After the general sessions concluded for the day, attendees had the option to practice their skills and test their knowledge in skills-based workshops offered in areas like EKG basics, joint injections, and surgical techniques within dermatology.
Networking with Sponsors, Exhibitors, and Alumni
Throughout the week, attendees could meet and greet with numerous Sponsors & Exhibitors in the Exhibit Hall, a favorite staple of the Summer Conference throughout the years. Attendees could network and explore job opportunities with exhibitors, discover new pharmaceutical offerings from sponsors, and discuss furthering their education with doctoral degree program representatives.
Additionally, the Conference hosted Alumni Lunches offered to Campbell, Duke, and Wake Forest PA Program, offering the chance for alums to reconnect and network, and meet with new faces and graduates.
Beach Activities for the Entire Family
Right after a full day of earning CME in the general session room, attendees had the option to participate in NCAPA’s staple beach activities, with offerings for the whole family to enjoy! From the Kids Fun Run open to ages one through ten, to the annual 5K Run along the shoreline, the entire family had the chance to make new summer memories. Winners emerged triumphantly in the hard-fought Volleyball, Cornhole, and Horseshoe tournaments, as well as Trivia Night.
