Introduction
The Methodist University Master of Medical Science PA program in Fayetteville began in 1996 as the third PA program in North Carolina. Methodist gained full accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) in 1998 and maintains the Accreditation-Continued status by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
The PA Program has one start date a year in August for each 40-person cohort. The program is a 27-month (7 semesters) full-time, in-person program with two phases: Didactic and Clinical. The initial 3.5 semesters comprise classroom and lab instruction, followed by 3.5 semesters of off-campus, supervised clinical rotations in multiple disciplines.
The Methodist PA program is distinguished by three dedicated, high-quality facilities, including a Human Anatomy Lab, an expansive medical lecture hall with breakout rooms, and a History and Physical Lab with five exam rooms. Since its inception, Methodist has graduated over 778 students. The 2024 cohort has excelled with a 100% first time pass rate and the program as a whole holds a 94% first-time PANCE pass rate over the last 5 years!
Class Updates

Class of 2026
As a member of the class of 2026, we began our second semester in January, diving back into an intense curriculum with even more clinical focus on cardiology, pulmonology, pharmacology, and more.
Upcoming events include the Play4Kay breast cancer 5K fundraiser and multiple interprofessional experiences in the community and in collaboration with the Methodist PT, Nursing, OT, and Social Work programs.

Class of 2025
After celebrating having earned their white coats and taking their pre-clinical PAKRAT, the class of 2025 started clinical rotations in December 2024. Each 4-week rotation provides hands-on experience in core disciplines and specialties at sites across the state.
Program Updates
